First of all, ya gotta see this:
That’s a whole bunch of OLD MAN RUFUS rolling off the printing press, at Jeffries Printing this week.
I sent out a kickstarter update on Monday which detailed the completion of the main story, and included the DIGITAL PDF file for ALL backers to read. If you didn’t receive that email, you can read the update here.
I’m gearing up to start shipping these as soon as I get ‘em delivered from the printer!
…and the DELUXE EDITION, you ask?
This version of the book is still being finished, so backers for those will need to wait a couple months more, but now that the bulk of the book is finished I can focus a lot more on that pesky backup story. Thanks again for your patience!
As you might already know, I’ve not only been running kickstarter campaigns for Killeroo books, I’ve also managed several campaigns for some of my fellow Australian self-publishers. And this week, I’m gratified to be doing so for a long-time friend, Tim McEwen - for the long-awaited return of his 1990s iconic series, GREENER PASTURES.
We launched this on Thursday, and it successfully funded in just under 18 hours time!
For me, it’s not hard to see why - there’s an amazing roster of guest artists involved in its production, including Dave Sim, Ashley Wood, Nicola Scott, Jon Sommariva, Dean Rankine and so many others - 30 in total I believe.
But it still caught Tim and I by surprise - we were both concerned about how we’d be able to reach so many of his older fans from the 1990s who were lucky enough to pick up a copy from newsagents all over the country - an audience I can only dream about today!
Available from this campaign, is not only the new issue #8, but you can also get the original comics from the 1990s, as Tim kept a bunch of him in his garage for the last 20 years! There’s also several original art options, such as sketch covers, page recreations, and commissions as well.
This campaign runs until the 7th of March, so there’s still plenty of time to grab your copy at the link below.
There’s another Kickstarter scheduled for late February too, which is a sequel to the KILLEROO/4HORSEMEN crossover from a few years back (and my first-ever kickstarter!):
That crazy Stuart Black and I have been working on this sporadically over the last year, and this book is now COMPLETELY FINISHED (apart from a few CAMEO spots). My contribution has mainly been inking a bunch of the Killeroo panels.
So this campaign will launch on February 27th.
It’s another thick one, clocking in at 80 pages long, full colour, with plenty of big action sequences and Stuart’s unique sense of humour.
There will be similar rewards available as that original campaign, and there’s plenty of copies of the original book that you’ll be able to buy in a bundle.
You can signup to be notified of when this campaign launches at this link:
(We might have already planned a ‘double-backer print’ with the Greener Pastures campaign…)
That’s about it for now. I’ve got some writing and drawing to do this weekend, so I better get back to it.
Thanks again for reading!
