Something saucy this way comes...
More Stuart Black madness is underway.
KILLEROO / THE 4HORSEMEN : NO REMORSE
Stuart Black being, well, Stuart Black, is always pumping out new comic books. After the success of the first crossover book, he’s started working on another one.
What’s it about? I really don’t know at this stage, Stuart never lets those sort of details get in the way of drawing more pages. But I’m told it will feature more characters from his 4HorseFemmes books and the new spinoff - Boom Squad.
The way the first book happened was that I just pretty much let him do what he wants, and then I’ll rein him in towards the end when it comes to scripting it - particularly Rufus’ dialogue.
I’m usually far more hands on when it comes to collaborating with other creators, but Stuart is a force of nature, and he has a pretty good sense of the character and how far he can push it before I’ll pull him up. Plus he brings a sense of fun which I think can sometimes be lacking from books that I make myself - so I don’t want to get in the way of that.
I also just love inking his pencils - I like our mix of styles.
This book is scheduled for July/August 2023.

SEMPER FIDELIS - HALO UPDATE
Something that has been gnawing at me for a long time (even more than OMR), has been the crazy delays in getting the graded copies of SEMPER FIDELIS delivered to my backers.
Communication with HALO has been spotty at best, and every time I’ve got an assurance on completion, they’ve let me down.
(In truth, I was hesitant to even write about this until I have them in my hands.)
I’m told they will be done and shipped to me next week, with a photo of some of them above. To say I will be relieved when I can finally ship these out to backers is a huge understatement.
Now, there are several of you who backed the OLD MAN RUFUS campaign with a Halo slab included, so I wanted to give you an update on my thoughts about these.
Neville (from Grail Hunters, who has facilitated the SF Halo grading) now has an account with CGC, and we’re looking into the pricing (will probably be more expensive) for getting the OMR books slabbed by them instead. But I know they’re not the fastest in getting this done either.
The other option is to simply cancel the pre-slabbing altogether, and just ship the books to those backers as is (along with a refund for the slab fee).
Let me know your thoughts.
Lastly, I’ll be at Supanova Melbourne this coming weekend of 22-23 April - alongside a whole bunch of great Aussie comic folks in the Artists Alley. My table is #4, which is in between the tables of Matt Kyme (The Phantom) and Tom Taylor (too many DC & Marvel books to list).
I’ll have the new ashcan sketchbook with me, as well as a bunch of Killeroo comics, prints and merchandise. Hope to see you there!

I have to say, you and Stuart have become my two fave Aussie comic creators (with Ryan Lindsey coming in a close third!) And it's mostly thanks to the first crossover than made me go all in on both series, all that was then available. They are so creative, and so much fun, so surprising in their creativity and deft skillsets on display. Love you both, and can't wait for the this next crossover. And whatever's next after that for ol' (or young, or middle-aged) Rufus :)
