Hi folks,
I didn’t want to post another update until I could show you THESE:
These are the proof copies of both SEMPER FI and YOUNG RUFUS, fresh from the printer, Jeffries Printing, who is standing ready to start printing the many hundreds of books you’ve been waiting for. You’ll notice the interior pages are loose, this is because the book will be perfect bound which is a specialised process and not available for making proofs - but they are on the exact paper stock that they will be when printed in the comic.
The proofing process involves some last-minute checking of the books to make sure that there’s been no production errors or missing files which might cause some printing errors, for example pages are in the right order, and all the colours are displaying as intended. I’ve picked up a couple of issues already, and will be making fixes this weekend before approving the full print run next week.
I haven’t found any issues so far, so these will all be printed by the end of the week and shipped to my home. I’ve already printed out address labels and started collating the stretch goal rewards that I had already had made months ago.
Thank you again for all your patience, I can’t wait to get these books and goodies on their way to all of my wonderful kickstarter backers…
OLD MAN RUFUS
Speaking of whom, you’ve probably seen that I’ve got another kickstarter campaign gearing up to launch this Monday on November 15.
It is very important to me to show you that the previous campaign’s books will be on their way very, very soon. While I have been making and delivering comic books for the last 20 years, I don’t take it for granted - and can understand if some of you might be a bit hesitant until you’ve gotten what you’ve paid for last time, which is perfectly understandable.
This OLD MAN RUFUS campaign will run until December 15, so hopefully your previous books will arrive before then! (Australia Post has been a bit tardy lately, so I can’t guarantee it).
OZCOMIC-CON
Lastly, I’m pleased to announce that I will be attending my first OzComic-con in Melbourne as a guest for the first time!
Not only will I have stocks of all the new books, but I’ll be making some special OLD MAN RUFUS prints for the occasion as well.
I hope to see you there!
